Mocaverse ($MOCA) is a Web3 metaverse project under Animoca Brands that integrates sports, gaming, music, and digital IP into a unified ecosystem. According to Animoca Brands co-founder Yat Siu, Mocaverse is essentially an interoperable infrastructure stack.
Mocaverse is developing Moca ID, which is a decentralized identity (DID) system that provides access to numerous DApps in the Moca Network. It offers access to Animoca Brands' 450+ portfolio companies and the ecosystems of their subsequent partners.
Summary: Backed by Animoca Brands, Mocaverse gains support from notable venture capital firms including CMCC Global, OKX Ventures, and Polygon Ventures. This project aims to enhance network effects and bring together various cultural economies to maximize mutual benefits.

Mocaverse has raised a total of $31.88 million. In December 2023, it announced the completion of a new round of financing of $11,888,888, with participation from Block1, OKX Ventures, Foresight Ventures, Polygon Ventures, Dapper Labs, and others. In September 2023, Animoca Brands posted that it had received binding commitments for $20 million for a funding round. The funding round was led by CMCC Global, with other investors including Kingsway Capital, Liberty City Ventures, GameFi Ventures, Aleksander Larsen (founder of Sky Mavis), Gabby Dizon (founder of Yield Guild Games), Koda Capital, Yat Siu (executive chairman and co-founder of Animoca Brands), and others.
