What is OSMO

Tokens

1. Project Introduction
Osmosis is an application-specific blockchain (app-chain) within the Cosmos ecosystem. It functions as a decentralized exchange (DEX) and a cross-chain DeFi hub, seamlessly connecting over 50 interoperable blockchains via the Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC). Osmosis serves as a gateway for DeFi within Cosmos, providing both IBC cross-chain transfers and asset trading. Its native token, OSMO, can be staked to secure the network or used to provide liquidity within the DEX's pools.
2. Team & Investment Info
Founders: Osmosis was co-founded by key members from Cosmos core teams, including:
Sunny Aggarwal (from Sikka Validator and Tendermint).
Dev Ojha (from Tendermint).
Josh Lee and Tony Yun (from Keplr, a cross-chain wallet).
Funding: In October 2021, Osmosis raised $21 million in a token sale led by Paradigm, with participation from Robot Ventures, Ethereal Ventures, and others.
