As of late March, 30-day apparent demand decreased by roughly 63,000 $BTC, signaling that selling pressure still outweighs buying. Individual investors and other market participants are currently outpacing institutional purchases, keeping the market in what CryptoQuant calls a "distribution phase," ongoing since November 2025.

Interestingly, whales holding 1,000-10,000 $BTC have turned into net sellers, with this group reducing their total holdings by about 188,000 $BTC over the past year. The 365-day moving average also continues downward. Historically, prolonged negative accumulation by whales has aligned with periods of price weakness, and current data suggests selling pressure remains a structural obstacle.
