HTX Introduces Ed25519 API Keys

HTX is excited to announce that we have added support for Ed25519 API keys. Use them now to enjoy optimized API performance.

I. Ed25519 API Keys and Security

Ed25519 is an asymmetric cryptographic algorithm, favored for its speed and security. It allows you to generate a public/private key pair for further API usage, where you can share only the public key with HTX while using the private key to sign API requests.

Strengths you can expect:

1. High Security: Built on an advanced elliptic curve cryptographic algorithm, Ed25519 provides robust security. It effectively shields you from various attacks, safeguards personal information and transactions, and ensures that your private keys remain solely under your control.

2. Fast Authentication: Ed25519 enables faster signing than traditional RSA keys, ensuring smooth operations and maximizing trading efficiency.

We recommend API users adopt Ed25519 for encryption.

II. Get Ed25519 Key Pair

1. Download a key generator. For example, you can use this key generator and get the latest version.

2. Generate a key pair. The public key will be used when creating your API Key, while the private key is needed to sign API requests. It is crucial to securely store your private key and never share it with anyone.

III. Create Ed25519 API Key on HTX

1. Go to the API Management page and click Create API Key.

2. Choose Self-generated.

3. Enter the public key generated by the key generator, and follow the instructions to complete the process.

IV. Submit Signed API Requests

Please refer to the API documentation for instructions on signing requests using the private key generated in the key generator.
