1. Project Introduction
Flare is a Layer-1 blockchain that enables secure universal interoperability between chains by allowing the free flow of digital assets and on-chain information across blockchains. Leveraging its consensus protocol with external data, decentralized applications on Flare can securely and trustlessly access and utilize data from other blockchains and real-world sources, addressing the oracle problem and ushering in a new era of utility. Flare Network itself is a smart contract platform compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and includes additional components to support asset mapping for non-smart contract platforms. These mapped assets can use Flare's smart contracts to provide smart contract services to other non-smart contract blockchains.
