HTX Security Advisory: Strengthen Your Account Security with Complex Passwords
- Others
- Account Security
Recently, scammers have been impersonating HTX's customer support staff to deceive users into transferring funds to their designated "secure escrow accounts" or steal users' account passwords. Their tactics include claiming "user account anomalies" or "transactions flagged for risk control" via phone calls or DingTalk messages or inducing users to download screen-sharing software.Based on real-world case analysis, we have found that accounts with complex login and transaction passwords are more secure, and their users are less likely to fall victim to scams. Therefore, we recommend that you:
1. Make your passwords as complex as possible while remembering them. A secure password should include at least 8 characters, combining numbers, symbols, and both uppercase and lowercase letters. For example: spQ3kyh#0w4En.
2. Use different passwords for each of your important accounts. Reusing passwords poses a risk. If someone guesses the password for one of your accounts, they could gain access to your email, address, or even assets.
3. Avoid personal information or common words as passwords. Set a unique password that is unrelated to your personal information and consists of letters, numbers, and symbols.
4. Regularly update and securely back up your passwords. Avoid using the same password for extended periods. We recommend changing your password every 90 days. Additionally, store your passwords using hardware or paper methods that are isolated from your computer or mobile phone.
At HTX, our users are always our priority, and we're committed to continuously strengthening and optimizing our risk control system to create a safer trading environment for our users. However, secure trading also depends on individual user awareness.
