Telegram said in its official channel on Thursday that the messaging app will soon launch a username auction platform on the Open Network (TON) blockchain. Telegram's founder Pavel Durov revealed the project in August, citing the recent success of TON's auction of its wallet usernames as inspiration. He said how successful Telegram, with 700 million users, would be if we auctioned off reserved usernames, groups and channel links. Alternatively, other elements of the Telegram ecosystem, including channels, stickers or emojis, could later become part of this marketplace.
