Velas Network AG由两位加密货币企业家 Alex Alexandrov 和 Farkhad Shagulyamov 于 2019 年创立。 如今，Velas总部位于瑞士“加密谷”（苏黎世州楚格）。 Velas 团队最初是从头开始编写代码，最终得出的结论是，这样的项目可能会持续多年。 Velas团队认为，如今更有效的方式是采用现有的框架并加以增强。 因此，选择了Solana，目前最快的区块链，作为Velas的基础，并通过集成以太坊虚拟机来扩展其功能。 通过这种方式，Velas 既继承了两者的优点：高交易每秒处理量（TPS）、1秒的最终性确认时间，又支持了EVM/Solidity。
